X Men Origins : Wolverine PC Game Review, Mods, Cheats and Walkthrough.
Review:
This May Activision and Raven Software teamed up to give us the highly anticipated, bone crushing, action packed, game that is Wolverine. Unlike movie piggy backing movies of the past, this game is entertaining in its own right. It is chauk full of fast paced, high intensity action sequences. The hand to hand combat is seamless and suprisingly unrepedative. The graphics where not cutting edge but where not greatly lacking. It has a fun interfact that easly allows you to jump from enemy form enemy and seem almost playfull. I also felt that it stayed true to its roots. At some times the forced camera angles where anoying but they where very remeniset of the 2D super-hero baced action games of the previous generations console wars.
Mods:
Wolverine is baced off the Unreal Engine 3 and there are some very easy ajustments you can make to improve the graphics of the game.
Custom Resolutions:
One of the first things I noticed about Wolverine is the limited number of default resoltions available (I use 1440x900). Here is an easy way to fix that.
Find and Open the WEngine.ini. By default it should be here [My Documents\Wolverine\WGame\Config\WEngine.ini]
Open the file with notepad, or your favortie text editor and find the following lines
ResX=
ResY=
Now all you have to do is entered in your desigered resolution
Example:
ResX=1440
ResY=900
Save the file and restart the game.
Improved Graphics:
Being baced on the unreal 3 engin there are a few ajustments you can make to the WEngine.ini that can make the game look better.
Find and Open the WEngine.ini. By default it should be here [My Documents\Wolverine\WGame\Config\WEngine.ini]
Change the following line from False to True.
AmbientOcclusion=
bEnableVSMShadows=
bEnableBranchingPCFShadows=
UseVsync=
There are a viraity of different option you can turn on an off. Feel free to play around but remeber to always keep a back up!!
Cheats:
There are also a few cheats that can be done quite simply by editing a the game files.
God Mode:
Find and Open the WEngine.ini. By default it should be here [My Documents\Wolverine\WGame\Config\WGame.ini]
Change the following line form False to True

Unlock All Talents:
